Overview
The Huchuy Qosqo Trek is a moderate hiking route in the Cusco region of Peru, culminating at the remarkable archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo (Quechua for «Little Cusco») . Perched at about 3,650 meters (11,975 ft) on a plateau with commanding views of the Sacred Valley, this site features well-preserved Inca buildings, terraces, and a unique reservoir .
The trek follows original Inca trail stone pathways, crossing high Andean passes, passing through remote Quechua communities, and offering diverse landscapes from high-altitude puna grasslands to lush micro-climates . Its main appeal is the uncrowded, off-the-beaten-path experience combined with rich cultural and historical depth .
